Our Fleet
Flying to Milford Sound, Mt. Cook & the Glaciers
Glenorchy Air Has a fleet of three aircraft.
GA8 Airvan
This is an eight seat aircraft of a brand new design. It was certified in 2003 to Part 23 amendment 55 of the FAA rules. This aircraft is state of the art, no other aircraft of it's type is presently certified to this standard.
The aircraft is powered by the latest design of Lycoming IO 540 engine. All passengers have a window seat with an unimpeded view of the landscape as you fly through it. All passengers sit on a seat restrained by a three point harness. All passengers have headsets so they can hear the pilot commentary. This aircraft has the lowest fuel consumption on a per passenger seat basis of any piston engine aircraft presently flying.

Cessna 172 SP Skyhawk
This is an four seat aircraft purchased new in 2004. All passengers have a window seat with an unimpeded view of the landscape as you fly through it. All passengers sit on a seat restrained by a three point harness. All passengers have headsets so they can hear the pilot commentary. This aircraft allows us to take small numbers of passengers on specialized itinerary's with minimum environmental impact.

Pa 32 300S Cherokee 6 300
This is a six seat aircraft. Originally a seaplane it was later converted to a landplane. The aircraft is powered by the latest design of Lycoming IO 540 engine purchased new in 2008. It has the latest technology propeller purchased new in 2006. This makes it the quietest aircraft of it's type flying out of Queenstown. All passengers have a window seat with an unimpeded view of the landscape as you fly through it. All passengers have headsets so they can hear the pilot commentary. This aircraft allows us to take wheelchair dependent passengers in comfort along with their wheel chairs.
